SDGs Action Research Center has been appreciated

Islamic Foundation Director General Anis Mahmud appreciated the initiative of SDGs Action Research Center by SIMEC Institute of Technology.

IF Director General along with Additional Secretary of Religeous Affairs Ministry Dr. Moazzem Hossain visited the centre in the capital on Friday.

SIMEC Institute President Prof. Dr. Monirul Islam presided the round table discussion meeting titled ‘Effective role of religious leaders to make golden people for sustainable golden Bangla’.

SDGs Action Research Center Rxecutive Director Prof. Dr. Amzad Hossain, BITAC former Director General Dr. Mafizur Rahman and Singapore-based Circular Economics Chief Executive Officer Asif Siddiqui connected the session virtually.

Prof. Dr. Amzad Hossain said, “A short training program has been developed for the participant to build golden people for sustainable golden Bangla”.

“The training can be facilitited by the government officials who have been trained in SDGs from Curtin University in Australia funded by the Prime Minister’s Office” he added.

Dr. Mafizur Rahman said, “At the end of the training, the religious leaders like Khotibs, Imams, Muazzins and Priests will inspire the grassroots people to build a sustainable golden Bangla”.

Dr. Moazzem Hossain said,
“After the training in SDGs Model Projects, local SDGs coordinators must do follow up, social impact assessment, evaluation and present a research paper to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office”.

“If the training results effectively, it can be conducted across the country in the same training modality” Dr. Asif Siddiqui added.

At the end the Director General of Islamic Foundation Anis Mahmud highly appreciated the private initiatives of SDGs Action Research Center for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).

President Prof. Dr. Monirul Islam said SIMEC Institute is capable to run SDGs Action Research, training and education programme.

The programmme was hosted by Muhammad Sharifur Rahman, National Coordinator of SDGs Action Research Center and coordinated by Md Jamal Ahmed, Manager Coordination, Architect Ms. Tushi, Junior Executive Ms. Bipasha of SIMEC Institute of Technology.
