18 BFDC-based organizations boycott actor Zayed Khan

18 organizations,  related to the film industry  boycott  Zayed Khan, who was recently elected general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association amid much controversy, said a press release on Saturday.

According to a statement from the organisations, they will not work on any film with Zayed until further notice. It comes a day after the actor was sworn in as general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association for the third time.

‘On the BFAA polling day on January 28, members of other organisations were not allowed inside the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation, which was indecent and insulting. Zayed Khan’s role behind this has been proved. None of these organisations will work with him from now on,’ the press release said.

Sohanur Rahman Sohan, convener to the Film Related-18 organisations and president of the Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association, signed the press release.

Earlier, following the BFAA elections, members of the 18 organisations protested against the managing director of the BFDC Nuzhat Yeasmin for not letting them enter at BFDC on the polling day.

Zayed was not available for comment on the issue.
