Jay Shankar due in Dhaka Thursday

Indian External Affairs Minister Jay Shankar will come Dhaka on Thursday to set agendas for upcoming visit of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi.

Shankar is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen on Thursday, State Minister for foreign affairs Md Shahrair Alam told reporters on Tuesday.

The Indian external affair minister is likely to arrive by a special aircraft on Thursday morning and will leave Dhaka the same day, official sources said.

Modi is scheduled to arrive here on March 26 to join the celebration of Bangladesh’s the 50th anniversary of independence and 50 years of Bangladesh-India diplomatic relations.

The Indian prime minister is also schedule to hold bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina. Alam said Dhaka looks forward to Modi’s take forward the Bangladesh-India ties with some deliverables.
