No WC qualifying match in Bangladesh

Bangladesh lost the opportunity of hosting any more match of the World Cup and AFC Cup qualifying round as all the remaining match of their group are set to take place in Qatar.

Bangladesh was supposed to host three matches against Afghanistan, India and Oman, but due to  corona pandemic the matches had been postponed and were rescheduled to take place later this year.

But on Friday Asian Football Confederation decided to centralize all the qualifying matches.

“Following a process of close consultation with Asia’s Member Associations, the AFC has confirmed the centralized venues for the Asian Qualifiers for the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2020 and Asian Cup China 2023 matches scheduled take place from May 31 to June 15, 2021,” stated the AFC website Friday.

The AFC has set eight venues for the remaining matches of eight groups and according to their decision Qatar will host the Group E games.
