Politics at Qawmi madrasas banned

The highest policy-making body of the country’s Qawmi madrasas Al-Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatil Qawmia Bangladesh has slapped a ban on student and teacher politics across the country.

The Standing Committee of the organization in a meeting on Sunday also agreed that no individual or institute under Al-Hayatul Ulaya would be allowed to take any unilateral decision or initiative.

To ensure that the process is maintained and monitored properly, they also formed a 15-member committee with five representatives each from Al-Hayatul Ulaya and Befakul Madarisil Arabia, and five others nominated by the chairman, Allama Mahmudul Hassan.

A press statement signed by Al-Hayatul Ulaya Lil Jamiatil Qawmia Office Secretary Asiur Rahman has revealed the developments. It said that the meeting was held at Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom Madania Madrasa at Jatrabari in the capital.
