Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud blasted the BNP leaders particularly its secretary general for the denial of BNP-Jamaat’s mayhem under the banner of Hefazat Islam during the golden jubilee celebration of independence.
“The active participation of BNP-Jamaat in the mayhem under the banner of Hefazat during the golden jubilee celebration of the country’s independence and shifting the crime to others by the BNP secretary general are expression of falsehood,” he said.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, added: “I’m thinking of the time when he (Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir) might say that Awami League is responsible for Khaleda being infected by Coronavirus.”
The minister told newsmen at the meeting room of his ministry at Secretariat in the capital on Sunday.
He said there are video footages of all incidents of March 26, 27 and 28 which took place across the country including Chattogram, Brahmanbaria and Dhaka. Trial of the accused is going on and they have already given confessions, he added.
He said the statement of Mirza Fakhrul Islam proved that they took part actively in the mayhem and now they (BNP) are denying their involvement in the incident. Such heinous lie is never desirable from a senior politician, he added.
