Govt reduces Tk 50 for 12-kg LPG cylinder

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Taka 50 from 1,228 for a 12 kg cylinder at retailer level.

“The newly fixed price of LPG is Taka 1,178, which was Taka 1,228. It will be effective from today at 6pm (January 3) and all licenses of LPG marketing companies will implement the price,” according to a statement issued by the BERC today.

It said the BERC also re-fixed auto gas price Taka 54.94 per liter, while per kilogram of LPG at Taka 98.17 at retailer level inclusive VAT owned by private sector.

According to the BERC decision, new price at retailer level owned by private sector, 12.5 kg LPG has been fixed at Taka 1,227 at retailer level, 15 kg at Taka 1,473, 16 kg at Taka 1,571, 18 kg at Taka 1,767, 20 kg at Taka 1,963, 22 kg at Taka 2,160, 25 kg at Taka 2,454, 30 kg at Taka 2,945, 33 kg at Taka 3,240, 35 kg at Taka 3,436 and 45 kg at Taka 4,418.

According to the BERC details, the price of LPG $740 and $710 per metric ton was fixed for January 2022 by Saudi Contract Price (Saudi CP) as per Propane and Butane ratio 35:65. The Saudi CP price was fixed $720.50 per metric ton considering the ration between Propane and Butane average.
