Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to take coronary PCR test at international airports of the country. The program will start in the next one week.

From the Ganobhaban, the Prime Minister and Ministers from the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat attended the meeting via video conference.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said this at a press briefing at the Secretariat.

Stating that two issues came up in the unscheduled discussions in the cabinet meeting, the cabinet secretary said that new conditions are being laid down from different countries that PCR test should be done within 4 to 6 hours of the fly. That’s why the discussion has been going on for the last few days, today it has been proposed – very quickly to do a testing facility at the airport in two or three days. The same is true in other countries. So they can test within four hours of flying.

He said that now you can test Quick, Instantly Corona at the biggest airports in the world. We say the test will take 48 hours before. They will come from the land where our people are. Many countries give 4 to 6 hours.

Asked when the PCR test will be launched at the airport, the cabinet secretary said, “Instructions have been given today.” As fast as two-three days / seven days, you can’t go to that country unless you are in quick time.

“Our international flights are going from three airports,” he said. The primary will be at Dhaka Airport but there are only three (Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet airports) airports under discussion.

Regarding how long it will take to get the report, Khandaker Anwarul Islam said, “We have seen that we will be able to give the report within 4 hours.”

In the PCR test, the results of the corona test will be available within four hours. If you want to go abroad, passengers have to have a negative result of this test. Passengers are suffering due to lack of PCR testing system at the airport.

Considering the issue, instructions have been given to set up PCR labs at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital, Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and Osmani International Airport in Sylhet.
