The Prime Minister reaches New York

The special flight of Bangladesh Biman carrying the Prime Minister landed at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York at 5:26 pm local time on Sunday.

 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in New York to attend the 76th session of the United Nations.

A special flight of Bangladesh Biman carrying the Prime Minister landed at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York at 5:26 pm local time on Sunday.

The Prime Minister was welcomed at the airport by Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Rabab Fatima and Bangladesh Ambassador to Washington M Shahidul Islam.

 Confirming the matter to the media, Ihsanul Karim, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, said that after the formalities at the New York Airport, the Prime Minister went to the Lotte New York Palace, she is scheduled to stay here during his visit to the United States.

Earlier, the Prime Minister left for New York, USA after a stopover in Helsinki, Finland.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister flew to New York with her entourage on a special flight of Bangladesh Biman from Vantaa International Airport in Helsinki at 4.18 pm local time.

Nazmul Islam, the non-resident ambassador to Finland,  farewell to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the airport.

A few hours later, on September 20, at 9 a.m. New York time, there will be a closed-door meeting on climate change with the participation of heads of state and government. And by participating in this meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s program in the United States is starting.

On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at 11:30 am, the Prime Minister will plant trees and dedicate a bench in the garden on the north lawn of the UN headquarters.

Sheikh Hasina will hold a meeting with European Council President Charles Michel at her residence during her visit at 12:30 pm. She will have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Motley at the same place at 3:15 pm.

The Prime Minister left Dhaka for New York on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP flight at 9:23 am on Friday.

The Prime Minister is going on her first foreign trip after 19 consecutive months since the start of the Corona epidemic. She will be in Finland on her way to and from the United States.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in the country on October 1 at 10:15 pm.
