Virat Kohli To Step Down As RCB Captain After IPL 2021

A few days ago, Virat Kohli announced his resignation from the T20 leadership. He also announced his resignation from the RCB leadership in the IPL on Sunday night. As captain, Virat will lead the Bangalore Challengers for the last time in the IPL in the UAE.

He is the only player to represent just one franchise in every IPL season, Kohli has been leading RCB on a full-time basis since 2013.

“This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I’ll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me,” he said while making the mega-announcement.

He has been associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore since the birth of the IPL in 2008. Virat also said that the relationship with RCB will remain intact till the day he retires from the IPL, even if he relinquishes the captaincy.
