The distribution of nomination papers for the BCB elections has started

Distribution of nomination papers for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections began on Friday (September 24).

Distribution of nomination papers has started from 10 am at the office of the Returning Officer at BCB. And it will end at 4 pm. This activity will continue on Saturday. The price of the nomination paper has been fixed at Tk 10,000.

Earlier on September 22, the Election Commission released the draft voter list. As there was no objection to the list, the final voter list was released on Thursday with 171 candidates. The date for submission of nomination papers is September 27. The postal voting system has also been changed in the constitution.

Withdrawal of nomination papers and final list of candidates will be released on September 30. The election will be held on October 6. The results will be released the day after the vote.

This time 171 councilors will take part in the BCB election in three categories. Whose list has been published. Through the election, 25 directors of the board will come from here for the next four years.

The current directors of the BCB met for the last time last Tuesday (September 21) before the election. The main agenda of the last meeting of the current committee in the BCB was the upcoming elections.

After the 12th meeting of the current committee of the BCB, Nazmul Hasan Papon said, “He has no panel in this election. It is a decision to keep the post of director open to all.

BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon has been serving for two consecutive terms for 8 years. Earlier, Nazmul Hasan was elected to the BCB in 2017 and took charge of the board of directors. The term of this committee was to end on October 31.
