The party that is isolated from the people is talking about boycotting the elections – Information Minister

Joining online from Dhaka on Saturday evening, the minister was responding to a question from reporters after speaking as the chief guest at a check and clothing distribution function organized by the Rangunia branch of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad at his  own constituency Rangunia Upazila Auditorium in Chittagong. “The BNP will not go to the polls under this government. The 20-party alliance has called for a movement to the fall of the government,”  asked regarding this Dr .Hasan told the reporters, “Several parties have fled from the 20-party alliance that the BNP is saying. Now, the number of party alliances in the 20-party alliance is a matter of examination. The BNP leaders are saying that they will agitate with all the parties, but the unity among them has been broken.

Recalling the previous elections, Awami League joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud said, “Even before the 2018 elections, they spoke of boycotting. In the end, they participated in the elections . Those parties which have no grassroots base, they are talking about boycotting the elections. If the BNP has to survive as a people-oriented political party, then there is no alternative to participate in the elections”.

“I hope the BNP will not go for a boycott of the elections with a suicide decision like in the past,” he said.
