Transgender man gives birth to baby boy

A transgender man gave birth to a baby boy who couldn’t get pregnant while going through his transitioning phase.

Ryan Sanderson — who is 24-years-old and was born a female — had been taking testosterone for nine months, found out that he had gotten pregnant, according to Daily Mail.

Believing that trans people can’t get pregnant, Ryan was taking testosterone and later welcomed his son Hendrick through a complication-free pregnancy after two years.

Ryan breastfed his baby before getting his breasts removed, however, he decided to pause more procedures in case he wants to have more babies in the future.

Talking about his pregnancy, Ryan said: “I believed it to be fate. I’ve never been a devout follower of religion, but I felt like it was a sign to have a child before I was in too deep with testosterone treatments.”

He shared his joy and said that “Hendrick truly became my everything,” after finding out about his pregnancy.

Ryan said that the news came to him during a doctor’s appointment.

“I didn’t believe I could get pregnant when on testosterone until I found out that I was. I think more trans men need to understand that they can get pregnant. My ex-partner was under the impression that he was infertile, but that wasn’t the case,” he said.

He further said that his mother and family members supported him entirely through the pregnancy.

Ryan embraced his experience of being a father, saying that “I’d love to have a bigger family in the future, so I’m holding off on any more surgeries for now until there are more options than I am comfortable with.”

“I’m finally the person I want to be, and I’ve got a mini-me to share that journey with,” he expressed.
