KGF 2 Box Office Week 1: Yash’s film crosses 700 crore mark, registers second best opening week
The executive producer of the franchise, Karthik Gowda, confirmed that the pre-production work on KGF: Chapter 3 has begun, but did not divulge further details.

On Thursday afternoon, film trade analyst Manobala Vijaybalan shared the news that KGF: Chapter 2 has crossed the ₹700 crore mark worldwide. He tweeted that, “#KGFChapter2 ZOOMS crosses ₹700 crore milestone,”. Giving detailed figures, film trade portal T2B Live said that the film has earned ₹ 719.30 crore globally in seven days. This is the second highest collection of an Indian film in a week after ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, which earned over 800 crores in the first seven days.
The Hindi-dubbed version of the film has also emerged as the most successful film in Hindi after the first week in the history of Indian cinema. According to the figures released earlier in the day, the Hindi version of KGF 2 earned Rs 250 crore at the box office. By doing so in seven days, it has become the fastest-grossing film in Hindi, beating other blockbusters like Baahubali: The Conclusion, Dangal, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai.

Helmed through Prashanth Neel, KGF: 2 is a follow-up to the Kannada blockbuster KGF: 1. The film, starring Yash in the lead, follows a man named Rocky (Yash), who later turns into a dangerous gangster who controls gold mining. And builds his empire in Kolar Gold Fields. The sequel of the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash, John Cocaine and Saran.
