Abdus Salam, the brave freedom fighter, buried with state honor

The brave freedom fighter Abdus Salam, father of Shamima Akhter Dola, editor of News Now Bangla, and permanent member of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), was buried with state honor.

In the afternoon, he was buried in the family graveyard at his village after the Janaza prayer at Gobindpur Eidgah in Brahmanbaria. Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque was present there.  Anisul Haque expressed deep grief and condolence over the death of late brave freedom fighter Abdus Salam and offered floral tributes in his honor.  In his speech, the law minister mentioned the heroic role of late Abdus Salam in the great liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971.

On Sunday, December 31, at 3:30 AM, brave freedom fighter Abdus Salam passed away while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).

He was 71 years old at the time of his death. He left behind three daughters, one son, many relatives and friends. Dhaka Reporters Unity – (DRU) mourns the death of brave freedom fighter Abdus Salam. DRU leaders prayed for the repose of the departed soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
