Staying alert against communal forces
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader urged all to remain vigilant so that no communal forces can rise in Bangladesh amid recent changeover in a South Asian country.
He came up with the call while addressing a discussion on ‘Bangabandhu’s Philosophy on Natural Disaster Mitigation and Current Context’ at the AL’s Bangabandhu Avenue central office here.
The AL Sub-Committee on Disaster Management and Social Welfare arranged the meeting.
“Conspiracy is going on. Many are dreaming due to the political changeover in a South Asian country. Remember, we made Bangladesh independent in exchange for blood,” Quader said.
He said any conspiracy must be resisted and everyone should remain alert so that no communal force can emerge in the country.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said where the BNP reached in the name of the movement was proved by their violence in Chandrima Udyan yesterday.
“They (BNP men) threw bricks at police. There is no scope for intrigue here. We will reach the golden stairs under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by resisting all conspiracies,” he said.
About the fake birthday of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the AL general secretary said BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir criticised his statement regarding Khaleda Zia’s birthday.
He said it was not his own remark but six birthdays of Khaleda Zia were found from her biography.
