4 killed in clashes in Ukhia’s Rohingya refugee camp

Four people were  killed in sporadic clashes and shootings between two groups in a Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazaar. At least seven people were injured in the incident.

The incident took place at Camp No. 18 in Ukhia on Friday (October 22) morning. Members of the Armed Police Battalion arrested a man named Mujib with weapons in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Idris (32) of Balukhali-2, Ibrahim Hossain (22) of Balukhali-1, Azizul Haque (26), son of Basunda Nurul Islam of H block of Camp No. 18 and Md. Abul Hossain’s son Amin (32).

Cox’s Bazaar 8 Armed Police Battalion Commander SP Shihab Kaiser Khan told the media that it was not yet clear what caused the two groups to clash. We have arrested one person with a weapon. Four people were killed. Eight others were admitted to MSF Hospital with injuries.
