Bangladeshi woman entrepreneur awarded in Delhi

Dr Nadia Binte Amin, a leading woman entrepreneur , researcher and a social worker and president of Women Entrepreneurs Network for Development Association, has been honored with prestigious Indian “Priyadarsini Lifetime Achievement Award” for her outstanding contribution in the field of business and women empowerment in Bangladesh.

Dr Nadia along with some other Asian women were awarded at the sixth International Women Entrepreneurs Conference in the Indian capital on Friday.

The Int’l Women Entrepreneurs Conference was organized by Federation of Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) in association with ministry of MSME, government of India and Institute of Studies in Industrial Development.

Union Minister Shei Narayan handed over the award to Dr Nadia while chairman of media and entertainment committee of consumer affairs department Sandeep Marwah and President of FIWE Ms Rajini Aggarwal, were present on the occasion.

Women entrepreneurs from all parts of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Nigeria participated in the conference.

Dr. Nadia is the founder of Tara foundation; through which she aims to create a platform which will help the people of villages and improve their living standards. During her long research career, she worked for National and Multinational companies, International Agencies like UNICEF, UNDP, foreign NGOs, and reputed market and social research organizations.She is very big in the fashion industry as well. Presently she is working as the Managing Director at Research and Computing Services Private Limited . The Academia also got a fair share of this virtuoso- she regularly teaches Post Graduate business students as Visiting Faculty at different universities including Jahangir Nagar University, and State University of Bangladesh and she also worked as a part time faculty at BRAC University and East West University. Standing as a symbol of encouragement and change and as a star example of the how corporate meets development studies, academia and research; She truly is an exemplary woman.

Dr Nadia entered the working life after successfully completing MBA from IBA of Dhaka University, which is famous in the East as Oxford of the East. The extra-ordinary women organizer achieved the PhD degree by dint of her uncommon patience and accommodating quality. At the very beginning of her working life, she joined Global 2000 as a team leader and proved her genius and integrity there. She wanted to establish herself with the acquired education, talent and hard work. For this reason, she entered her career before marriage. She successfully served as a number of organizations. She said the funny thing is that my responsibility in every workplace is research base. That is why after marriage, she started a research business with the encouragement of her husband. For this she established Research in Computing Services Pvt. Ltd in 1993. She has been running the business as RCS for the last 30 years.

Dr Nadia has been awarded for her outstanding contribution in 30 years of business career and empowering women through organizing, supporting, motivating and providing entrepreneurial skills.
