Danish Crown Princess to visit Rohingya camps today

Crown Princess of Denmark Mary Elizabeth will visit Rohingya camps in the district today.

The Crown Princess, wife of Danish crown prince Frederik, arrived at Cox’s Bazar international airport at 5 pm yesterday by a domestic flight from Dhaka while Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Mamunur Rashid received her at the airport.

Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Hasanuzzaman and the officials of Denmark embassy were present at the airport at that time.

“The princess will stay at a hotel here tonight. She is scheduled to hold a discussion with officials of Danish Refugee Council (DRC) here tomorrow morning”, Additional Commissioner for the Office of Refugee Relief and Repatriation (RRRC) Md Samsudduza Noyon said.

Later, the princess will visit the Rohingya camps and observe soil erosion control and environmental restoration activities of DRC through tree plantation at Camp No 5.

Meanwhile, special security arrangements have taken at the Rohingya camps on the occasion of her visit, captain of 14 armord police battalion Naimul Haque said.
