Keep ACs shut off except prayer times in mosques: Nasrul Hamid

State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid requested the authorities to keep the air conditioners in mosques shut off once the prayer times are over.

The minister made the request at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

He said: “The nation will witness one hour long countrywide load shedding countrywide from Tuesday  to reduce energy subsidy.”

“The hourlong load shedding will be carried out initially for about a week. If that is not sufficient, the government will increase the duration of the load shedding,” he added. “So, we all should be careful while using electricity.”

Regarding buying gas from the international market, he said the government won’t do it as prices have skyrocketed.
