Skilled, qualified youth are future of country: Speaker
Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today said the young people, who are the future leaders of the country, can be made as the architectures of the developed and prosperous Bangladesh by ensuring quality education and training.
“Through effective and quality education, country’s talented students with their skills and qualifications will take the country close to the developed one by 2041 amid the global advancement to 4th industrial revolution,” said Dr Shirin.
The Speaker said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to ensure effective and quality education in the country.
Besides, the prime minister provided financial aid to the guardians through Smartphone in a bid to enhance or facilitate women education in the country, she added.
She was addressing the prize giving ceremony of ‘High Achievers Award 2022’ ceremony, organised by Pearson Edexcel with the operation of British Council, at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital.
Earlier, the Speaker distributed prizes among the winners of Pearson’s of ‘High Achievers Award 2022’ from Bangladesh who achieved outstanding results in their International GCSE and A Level examinations in 2021 and 2022.
This year, 779 Bangladeshi students received awards for achieving outstanding results. Thirteen awardees achieved world’s highest marks in different subjects.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson, British Council’s Regional Exams Director Harriet Gardner, Vice President of Pearson School Qualifications Emma Whale and British Council’s Director Operations Examinations Zunayed Ahmed were present, among others, at the ceremony.
