In addition to discussions on various important issues, various programs will be organised to present the history, rich culture and development of Bangladesh to the foreign participants.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.

The chief guest said “This conference is being held at a time when the intensity and complexity of various types of inter-state and internal conflicts around the world have taken an unprecedented form. In this situation, we are all working together to maintain world peace under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

“In this regard, IAPTC is making an important contribution to global peacekeeping by increasing the operational skills of peacekeepers, improving the quality of training and modernizing them,” he said.

Finally, he thanked all the Bangladesh Army for organising this conference beautifully and wished for the overall success of the conference.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed said that the Bangladesh Army is organising this important conference for the third time, which is an example of Bangladesh’s strong leadership in both diplomatic and military arenas in establishing world peace.

He said that “The model of people’s empowerment and peace-centred development presented by the Prime Minister at the United Nations General Assembly in 2011 is more relevant to deal with today’s critical security situation.”

“Today’s global security environment is becoming increasingly complex. The main objective of the IAPTC will be to assess the dynamic nature of this changing security situation and to outline the future course of action and necessary training to address it. IAPTC is a unique platform for policymakers, researchers, peacekeeping trainers and other concerned individuals and institutions involved in peacekeeping operations, training and research” he added.
