Shamima Dola has received the IIMCAAB Media Award

Shamima Dola, Editor of News Now Bangla has received the IIMCAAB Media Award for its feature on Bangladesh-India Bilateral Relations.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Saturday handed over the award to the winners in  a conference ‘Connections 2022’ organized by Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association of Bangladesh (IIMCAAB) at Dhaka Club.

IIMCAAB has given this award  for the best report, feature or analysis published in Bangla and English relating to having impact on Bangladesh-India bilateral relationship.

Indian High Commissioner Vikram K Doraiswami addressed the function as special guest with association President and Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ehsanul Karim in the chair.

The minister congratulated the winners and hoped that the all mass media and the IIMC graduate would play a pivotal role in strengthening the friendly relation of the two countries.

Shamima Akhter Dola, who started her career as a reporter in 2005 in the Bengali daily Amader Shomoy has  now turned into Editor of  popular online portal News Now Bangla .

She is a  former leader of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ). She is associated with many socio-cultural organizations from her childhood. She completed Masters  from University of Dhaka

A well-known reciter and debater from student life in the University of Dhaka  , Shamima Dola has been awarded several times for her outstanding reporting  on economy. She got best reporter award of NBR -2017, Somodhara Award 2016, Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s best reporter Award 2015-16 .
