Early Eid being celebrated in more than one hundred villages

Residents of more than one hundred villages in different districts across the country are observing the Eid-ul-Adha in line with Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries on Saturday.

In Chandpur, villagers of dozens of areas including Hajiganj upazila offered their Eid prayer Saturday. The main congregation was held at Sadra Senior Fazil Madrasa premises at 9am in the morning.

The residents in Sadra village of Hajiganj upazila have been observing the early Eid celebration since 1920.

Apart from Sadra, there were other Eid prayers. Two congregations were held at Bolakhal villages, one each at Olipur, Someshpur and Jakni.

Besides, the early Eid prayer also took place in more than 40 villages in Faridganj upazila including Surangachaul, Kaitara, Ubharampur, Toramunshir hat, Sachonmegh, Machhimpur, Bashara and Uttoli.

Devotees in several villages of Varukhali and Baukola of Satkhira Sadar upazila are also observing the Qurbani Eid in line with Saudi Arabia.

Around 60-70 male and female devotees offered their Eid prayer at Baukola Mosque around 7:30am on Saturday morning.

Besides, devotees of 30 villages in Shariatpur, 28 villages in Patuakhali, five in Dinajpur, 14 in Bhola and 10 in Jhenaidah districts are observing the Eid-ul-Adha on Saturday.
