Online portal News Now Bangla entered its fifth year

News Now Bangla.com was officially launched on July 25th of 2019 at National Press Club, Dhaka with this slogan: We are the news. Abdul Matlub Ahmad, former president of businessmen’s association FBCCI inaugurated the portal. Former Information Secretary Hedayet Ullah Al Mamun, Vice President of BFUJ Syed Ishtiaq Reza and other distinguished personalities were present.

Since the beginning, senior journalist Shamima Dola, the editor of the portal, started working with a few journalists. In the past three years, the portal has become popular among readers through serving news at national and international levels. Later, Shamima Dola started involving more brilliant journalists.

On February 4th, six people were offered meritorious honors for their contribution in the Liberation War, journalism, social, and cultural arena; Nitol Ayat and News Now Bangla jointly organized the event.  Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud gave away the prestigious awards to everyone as the chief guest.

Shamima Dola, editor of the News Bangla participated in the 74th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2019. After that, she receives the ITech Scholarship of the Government of India on behalf of News Now Bangla.

After successfully completion of the scholarship, Shamima Dola took several initiatives for further advancement of the portal. But the outbreak of Covid-19 Pandemic was an obstacle. However, the portal continues to publish objective news following safety health rules with the dedicated and committed journalists.  News Now Bangla received a big recognition in 2021. The portal received Facebook and Splice Lights on esteemed award. After various stages of verification from 163 online portals of 25 countries across the globe  finally News Now Bangla (https://newsnowbangla.com/) was selected.

News Now Bangla has won special honor globally through successfully publishing five news stories for Splice Lights On Award. Apart from this, the portal is also moving ahead through covering other news on different issues. And considering all these, the portal launched the English version from 2020.

The portal received government approval for registration from the Information and Broadcasting ministry of Bangladesh on July 15, 2022. News Now Bangla was finally registered on July 21, last year, 2022. Editor Shamima Dola said, “We are steadfast in our commitment to publish objective news. Even though it’s only been four years, we’ve made several achievements along the way.”

Shamima added that during the Covid-19 pandemic I could not do many things even if I wanted to. Not only me, my journalists also worked in different categories. She further said, “I am so optimistic, to gain more success ahead with all my talented journalists. This is my pledge to celebrate entering the fifth year of News Now Bangla.”
