There is no vaccine crisis in the country: Health minister

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said, there is no vaccine crisis in the country as 54 lakh vaccines have already arrived this month and  More 1.5 crore of doses are on the way to arrive too.

The Minister said this while addressing an orientation program  for the newly recruited junior consultants (Anesthesiologists) at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday (September 12).

He said appointing at once 409 anesthesiologists in the 6th grade was a huge step during this Covid pandemic.

“The health sector is grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for appointing such a large number of doctors in such a short period of time,” he said.

The minister called upon the newly appointed doctors to work in remote areas of the country shaking off all fears. Promising to take care of the facilities for the newly recruited, he requested the doctors to work in the service of the masses.

Lokman Hossain Mia, secretary to the Health Services Division presided over the meeting where education division’s secretary Md Ali Noor, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) president Dr.Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin and others attended.
