Mushfiq droped from DPL

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out from the remainder of the Super League matches in the ongoing Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20.

The right-handed batsman and Abahani Limited captain suffered an injury on his left hand during their game versus Gazi Group Cricketers at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Monday.

A CT scan Tuesday revealed Mushfiq has incurred a hairline fracture, informed Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief physician Debashish Chowdhury to the media.

“There is a minute fracture on the index finger [of the left hand] according to the scan. We have asked him to take a seven-day rest, after which we will assess his condition again. Since it’s a hairline fracture, we expect him to recover quickly,” said Dr Debashish to the media.

The injury has somewhat cast doubt over Mushfiq’s availability from the start of the tour of Zimbabwe.
