Tamim Iqbal got permission to play in Nepal

Tamim Iqbal, who withdrew him from the T20 World Cup, has been cleared to play in the upcoming Everest Premier T20 League.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has given a no-objection letter to the left-arm opener to play for Bhairawa Gladiators in this T20 tournament in Nepal.

After a two-month rehabilitation process to recover from a knee injury, Tamim will return to competitive cricket by playing in the tournament.

Tamim, who missed three consecutive T20 series against Zimbabwe, Australia and New Zealand due to injury, started training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday for the Nepal tournament.

BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury told cricket website CricketBaz that he hoped Tamim would be fully fit before the start of the tournament. The Everest Premier T20 League is scheduled to start on September 25.
