Khaleda Zia wants to return home, medical board says no
BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who has been undergoing treatment at Bashundhara’s Evercare Hospital in the capital for two months and 17 days, not yet recover. So she still has to stay in the hospital. The medical board formed for her treatment gave this opinion after the examination on Sunday.
Khaleda Zia was subjected to several tests. These include: ultrasonography, ECG, blood-sugar, sodium, hemoglobin, stool, urine and corona virus.
It is learned that Khaleda Zia wants to return home from the hospital if her health condition is favorable. However, the medical board says her condition is not yet risk-free. Khaleda Zia’s medical board member and BNP vice chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain said on Sunday that her treatment has to be changed constantly. When the symptoms lead to treatment. The medical board would not have asked her to stay in the hospital if she was in good health. They think that the hospital is better than home. So they kept in the hospital. When they decide, Khaleda Zia will return home. There is no medical system in Bangladesh to cure her illness. So there is no option but to take her abroad.
Khaleda Zia was admitted to the cabin of Evercare Hospital on November 13. The next day, Khaleda Zia, who suffered from liver cirrhosis, was rushed to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). From there, on the night of January 9, she was transferred to the cabin. At present, her physical condition is stable, doctors said.
