Bangladeshi people’s happiness, prosperity increased as per World Happiness Report: Information Minister
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said today that happiness and prosperity of Bangladeshi people increased according to World Happiness Report 2022, released by the United Nations (UN) on Friday.
“According to World Happiness Report, Bangladesh has moved up seven notches on the Index (to 94th position from 101st) which proved that the happiness and prosperity of Bangladeshi people increased,” he said.
Dr. Hasan made the remarks while exchanging views with reporters at his official residence at Minto Road here with the presence of Vice President of Belgium unit of AL Humayun Maqsud Himu.
In the midst of this Corona pandemic, when the world economy is under severe pressure including recession of the world economy, he said the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led government made people happy and the proof is the World Happiness Report.
Criticizing BNP for hindering the countrymen’s happiness and prosperity, he said: “If the BNP and its allies had not been constantly involved in anti-national conspiracies, propaganda and mischievous attempts to make the people unhappy in many ways, the happiness and prosperity of the people would have increased more.”
He also lauded the present government’s endeavors to mitigate the plight of the low-income people as the government has taken pragmatic steps regarding the price hike situation across the world.
