Dhaka-Jalpaiguri ‘Mitali Express’ train to start operation today
Dhaka-Jalpaiguri ‘Mitali Express’, the third Bangladesh-India passenger train service, is all set to start services from today.
The inaugural ceremony will be held in Delhi as Bangladesh Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan is in India now to join the ceremony.
Sujan and his Indian counterpart Ashwini Vaishnaw will virtually flag off the train service at 9.25 am.
During the regular service, the train will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 11.45 hours (IST) and reach Dhaka Cantonment at 22:30 hours (BST) and in the same way, the trail will depart from Dhaka Cantonment at 21.59 (BST) and reach New Jalpaiguri at 7.15 (IST).
It will run on Haldibari (India)-Chilhati (Bangladesh) route.
The Mitali Express will also run two days a week- on Monday and Thursday- from Bangladesh and Sunday and Wednesday from India.
Train fares are fixed as Taka 5,255 for AC Berth, Taka 3,420 for AC Seat and Taka 2,780 for AC Chair.
