Padma Bridge’s nut-bolts removed through tools: CID

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) assumes that Tiktoker Bayezid Talha used tools to remove nut-bolts of the Padma Bridge.

CID officials disclosed the matter at a press conference on Monday at its headquarters in the capital on Monday.

At the press conference, Rezaul Masood, Special Superintendent of Police, CID’s Cyber Intelligence and Risk Management Division, said,

“It is not possible to open the nut-bolts of the Padma Bridge by hand. We have also discussed this with the bridge authorities and learned that the nut-bolts of such a large structure cannot be opened by hand,” said Rezaul Masood, Special Superintendent of Police, CID’s Cyber Intelligence and Risk Management Division.

Rezaul Masood said that it means that the nutbolt was not opened by hand, the equipment was used to open the nut-bolts. The CID official could not answer the question as to what kind of equipment the nut-bolts was opened with.

Earlier, a video of the removal of the bridge’s nut-bolts went viral on social media. Police arrested a young man named Bayazid Talha on Sunday on charges of opening a nutbolt on the Padma Bridge.

Rezaul Masud also said that a case has been filed against Bayezid under the Special Powers Act at Padma Bridge South Police Station.
