No purchase of vehicles for government organisations
All government, semi-government and autonomous institutions have been ordered to stop purchasing vehicles, including ships and aircraft.
Three separate circulars of the Ministry of Finance have been issued in this regard on Sunday.
According to the circulars, no more than 50 percent of the allocation for government, semi-government and autonomous institutions can be spent on entertainment, computers, and related expenses.
In the meantime, all training expenses have to be completed within 50 percent of the allocation and all honorarium allowances will be discontinued.
The government will also stop spending on low-priority projects for the time being.
The government has taken various austerity measures in the wake of the global economic situation following the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
