Recognition of ‘News Now Bangla’ at country and abroad in three years
The online portal News Now Bangla.com steps into fourth year today.
Although it started on a small scale in the beginning, News Now Bangla has achieved lot of big things. Those associated with News Now Bangla are ahead in terms of participation and leadership in various competitions of the country and abroad. This report highlights the achievements of News Now Bangla on its foundation anniversary.
- The portal received the Facebook and ‘Splice Lights On’ Award in 2020. News Now Bangla was finally selected after various stages of verification from 163 online portals of 25 countries of the world. News Now Bangla has won honor in the world court by successfully publishing 5 news stories for Splice Lights on Award.
Achivement of News Now Bangla editor Shamima Dola
- Achive of IIMC Media Award 2021:
Shamima Dola, editor of News Now Bangla, received the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association, Bangladesh (IIMCAA,B) media award for Bangladesh-India bilateral relations. “India-Bangladesh Bilateral Trade”. Shamima Dola has been selected for two special reports, “Automotive Agreement Will Increase Trade by 25 Percent” and “Line of Credit: Unique Basis for Bilateral Relations”.
- Shamima Dola, editor of News Bangla, participated in the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
- In 2020 Shamima Dola received ITech Scholarship from the Government of India.
- News Bangla editor Shamima Dola participated in the 74th session of the General Assembly in 2019.
Achievements of News Now Bangla’s Senior Reporter Farhana Nila:
Farhana Nila, the senior reporter of the organization, has gained fame by participating in various competitions around the world by broadcasting news in News Now Bangla.
- Farhana Nila, Senior Reporter of News Now Bangla will represent Bangladesh on behalf of News Now Bangla at the Asia Journalism Fellowship 2022.
- Farhana Nila won third place in World Science Journalism Fellowship 2022.
- Achieve Bangladesh SRS Media Fellowship 2022.
- Farhana Nila won the Action for Development Fellowship Award 21 for her investigative reporting on child marriage.
Also she got opportunity to participate in Migration on Reporting training organized by Reuters, Participation in Online Harassment and Law training organized by Deutsche Velor, Disability on Reporting training organized by BBC Media. Farhana Nila has gained recognition as an international journalist. In continuation of that, Asia Democracy Chronicles organized by South Asia under the identity of News Now Bangla – her regular reports are published on the international web.
Achievements of News Now Bangla Senior Reporter Naznin Lucky:
Naznin Lucky, Senior Reporter of News Now Bangla, is playing a leadership role in journalism.
- News Now Bangla’s staff reporter Naznin Lucky has been elected as the woman editor of the Executive Committee of Reporters Against Corruption (RAC), an organization of journalists working in Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) bit for the year 2020-21.
- Currently, Nazneen Lucky is working as a woman editor of the Tangail Journalist Association.
