Virginia police: Multiple people killed in Walmart shooting

Several people were killed and wounded in a shooting at a Walmart in Virginia on Tuesday night, though the exact number was not immediately known, according to police. According to officials, the shooter was among the dead.

Around 10:15 p.m., officers went to the shooting spot, the Walmart on Sam’s Circle, later they discovered evidence of a shooting, according to Chesapeake Officer Leo Kosinski.

According to him, authorities discovered numerous dead bodies and injured people inside the store over the span of 35 to 40 minutes. They then assembled rescue and tactical teams to attend to the victims inside.

Police believe there was only one shooter, and he is dead, he said. When the police came, they think that the gunfire had already ended, Kosinski stated. He did not provide any death number but stated it was “less than 10, right now.”

Kosinski stated that he doesn’t think the police fired any rounds, but he was unable to confirm whether the shooter was dead of a self-inflicted gunshot.
