Denmark is keen to invest in Information Technology sector in Bangladesh
Outgoing Danish envoy tells the President
Winnie Estrup Petersen, outgoing Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh said to the President that Denmark is keen to invest in various sectors in Bangladesh, including information technology (IT).
Denmark will always continue to cooperate on socio-economic development in Bangladesh, the Danish envoy informed the President of Bangladesh Mohammed Shahabuddin during her farewell call on the president at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Thursday July 13.
The President Shahabuddin congratulates the Danish ambassador for the successful completion of her assignment in Bangladesh.
The President expressed his gratitude to the Danish government and people mentioning that Denmark was the first state among the European Union countries that recognized Bangladesh after independence.
Regarding the climate change issues, The President said that Bangladesh is one of the countries affected by climate change, so Denmark and Bangladesh can work together to deal with the issues.
Mentioning the signing of a joint action plan between Bangladesh and Denmark on sustainable and green framework engagement, the President expressed his satisfaction and gratitude. He said, “Bangladesh will be able to reduce the loss and damage of climate change.”
He also expressed deep gratitude to Denmark for providing political and humanitarian support over the Rohingya issue too.
The President hopes that Demark along with other international agencies and development partners would put pressure on Myanmar about the repatriation process of Rohingya people to their homeland, Myanmar in a safe, sustainable and dignified manner.
