Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resume divisional rallies, starts with Rangpur

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina previously took part in divisional rallies in Jessore, Rajshahi and Chittagong, as the national election

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will join as chief guest to resume Awami League’s  divisional rallies in the lead-up to the upcoming national election at a gathering in Rangpur on July 30.

Sheikh Hasina, the Awami League chief informed Rangpur Awami League leaders about the date while they called on her on Thursday July 13 at her official residence Ganabhaban.

The lawmaker of Rangpur-5 constituency HN Ashequr Rahman, and treasurer of the Awami League, and his son, media personality Rasheq Rahman, were also present at the meeting.

The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, “who is also a daughter-in-law of Rangpur,” was going there to join the Awami League’s divisional rally arranged by the party’s district and city units, she would issue some directives to the party members through her speech as chief guest, requesting anonymity, leaders present at the meeting informed the journalists.

Sheikh Hasina is expected to fly out to Italy next week. After returning home, she will resume a series of election campaigns with the Rangpur divisional rally, according to the reliable sources of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Sheikh Hasina would attend the rallies in every division and some of the districts before the election, party insiders said.
