Factory fire kills at least 36 people in central China

According to Chinese official media, a fire at a factory in central China on Monday killed 36 people. This is the latest in a line of fatal industrial accidents to strike the nation in recent years.

The fire at the factory in Anyang, Henan province, left two people missing and two others receiving minor medical attention, according to state television station CCTV.

According to CCTV, police have detained an unspecified number of suspects in connection with the blaze.

It took firefighters almost seven hours to put out the blaze.

China has seen a spate of industrial accidents in recent years that have left scores dead, raising concerns about public safety
