Unity in environmental protection will save the world -Dr. Hasan Mahmud

Unity in environmental protection will help keep the world alive for more days, said Information and Broadcasting Minister and environmental researcher Dr. Hasan Mahmud.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the Friends of the Earth and Miss Earth Bangladesh awards ceremony, jointly organized by Rotary International and Triple Nine Global at the Radisson Blu Water Garden in the capital on Friday evening.

The Information Minister thanked the organizers and congratulated the recipients of the award and said that the only holder of the human community, the planet Earth, has no alternative but to protect its nature and environment. This work requires the joint efforts of all.

Dr. Hassan said women in the developing world are directly involved with nature and the environment. They are directly affected by the damage to the environment. So in this case, women have no choice but to come forward consciously.

Rotary District Governor Motasim Billah Farooqi presided over the function and as presented by Miss Earth Bangladesh’s National Director Nayla Bari and Chief Adviser Noman Robin, A. Atiq Rahman spoke as special guests.

Inventor of alternative to polythene from jute fiber  Dr. Mubarak Ahmed Khan, Abdul Mukit Majumder, Head of Nature and Life Organization, Abdullah Abu Saeed, Rotary District Governor Motasim Billah Farooqui, Environmental Organizer Nayla Bari and Dr. SI Khan  conferred the title of Friends of Nature and Umme Jamilatun Naima was awarded the first Miss Earth Bangladesh by the guests and organizers.
