One killed in random shooting in US, attacker ‘suicide’
One person has been shot dead by a gunman at a supermarket in the US state of Tennessee. Another 12 people were injured in the incident. The bomber struck shortly after noon in what is believed to be a suicide bombing.
The incident happened Thursday afternoon at Kroger Grocery Shop in Collieryville, Tennessee. News Reuters.
One of the injured had to undergo surgery and the other is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, the report said.
Police arrived at the Kruger grocery store shortly after the incident.
“We found people hiding in the fridge and in the locked office,” said Dale Lane, Collierville Police Chief. This is the most ‘horrific incident’ in the history of Collieryville.
Lane said the store had 44 employees and numerous shoppers at the time of the incident.
Kruger spokeswoman Teresa Dickerson said the store in Collierville would remain closed until further notice.
