Sheikh Hasina’s politics is for the poor and miserable hardworking people – Information Minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister and Joint General Secretary of the Awami League Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, ‘Awami League politics is for the common man and the masses. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina does politics for the poor, miserable and hardworking people. Holding his hand, a smile has appeared on the faces of the poor hardworking people in Bangladesh. ‘

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized by the Bangladesh Awami Hawkers League on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 75th birthday at the Awami League office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

Awami League joint general secretary Dr. Hasan said, “The politics of Awami League is politics for the people of the country. After taking the responsibility of running the country, our leader has taken various steps so that the ordinary working people, hawkers, workers and farmers of the country do not suffer.

We think that working people are the lifeblood of Awami League. They have kept the Awami League alive and well by supporting it for ages. The Awami League has been transformed into the larger party of the country, the party of the masses. ‘

The minister said, “Those who sit in the drawing room and lead from there are not the lifeblood of the Awami League, the lifeblood of the Awami League is the leaders and workers of the field.” The politics of our leader Daughter of Bangabandhu and peoples leader Sheikh Hasina is for the masses, for the hawker-farmer-worker brothers. ‘

“I want to see a new committee of the Awami Hawkers League through a conference, then you will have branch committees all over the country. The Hawkers League will be a strong league,” he said.

The information minister said hawkers should not be evicted without alternative arrangements at this time, adding that the city authorities have instructions from the prime minister to make alternative arrangements for hawkers. If there was a weekly market in every ward, it would be an advantage for the hawkers. Weekly markets can also be set up in other major cities of the country. Then the hawkers can go there and sell and their world goes on.

Mentioning the progress of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Hassan said, “Today Pakistan looks at us with regret because we are now far ahead of Pakistan. There was a storm of discussion about our progress in India on the television screen, in the field of politics, there was a storm of discussion about the development progress of Bangladesh. This has been possible because of the people’s leader Sheikh Hasina. ‘

Awami Hawkers League founding president and convener of the conference preparation committee SM Zakaria Hanif presided over the function. Joint convener of the conference preparation committee Haji Md Anwar Hossain, Taslim Ahmed, former general secretary Md Jahed Ali and other leaders also  spoke.
