Tight security at Mandaps across the country

Bijaya Dashomi of the five-day Sharodia Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, will be celebrated in the country today.

With solemn immersion of Goddess Durga, the puja will end today (Friday) across the country.

Durga Puja started on Monday (October 11) through Chandipath, Bodhon and Goddess’s abode, following the health and hygiene rules.

This year, the biggest festival of the Hindu community is being celebrated at 32,118 puja mandaps across the country while the puja is being celebrated at 238 puja mandaps in the capital.

Various religious ceremonies were shortened this year to avoid infection amid the coronavirus epidemic.

According to the pure calendar, Goddess Durga is coming this time on horseback. Horses are one of the most used vehicles in war. The sound of horses’ feet also indicates war. Therefore, according to the calendar, the arrival of the horse means disintegration. In other words, there is a possibility of war, unrest and violence at this time.

Calender says, mother Durga is going to cradle this time. The result of going to the cradle is plague. Earlier, some restrictions were also imposed. The presence of visitors in the mandap is restricted and the puja mandap is closed after the evening aarti. Cultural events and dhunuchi dance competitions are also limited.

According to Sri Samereshwar Brahmachari, after a short puja on the day of Vijaya Dashmi, the mirror is discarded. In some places the invincibility of the goddess is also worshiped. Dussehra festival is also celebrated on this day to kill Ravan. On this day, after the demon was killed, the gods celebrated the victory with the blood of the demon.

According to the Purana, after fighting with Mahisasur for 9 days and 9 nights, Goddess Durga won on the tenth day. That is why Vijaya (victory). That folklore has become a game of vermilion in every house of Bengal.

The Vijaya Dashami Puja of Goddess Durga begins on Friday morning, October 15, the day of devotion. Vijaya Dashami of Goddess Durga will be celebrated on 9:11 am through prescribed puja.

 Among the followers of traditional religions, a feeling mixed with emotions and feelings is created on this day. As soon as Dashami arrives, they think of the fear of their mother’s return. Will have to wait another year. Usually Durga Puja ends through Dashmi. The idol of Goddess Durga is offered on this day.

On this occasion, Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and other private TV channels and radios will broadcast special programs. Besides, national dailies will publish special articles on the occasion.

Today is a public holiday on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami.  President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the message on the occasion of worship.
