BNP can bring foreign doctors for Khaleda’s treatment if required: Anisul Huq

Law minister Anisul Huq said on Saturday that If BNP wants to bring doctors from abroad for Khaleda Zia’s treatment, they can do that. In that case, the government will not create any obstacle. But BNP must keep it in mind that the government would not do anything beyond the law, he added.

He made the remarks responding to a question from the reporters virtually in a programme organised by Akhaura upazila Awami League ahead of the union parishad elections.

Law Minister said the government has provided all facilities to convicted prisoner BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia as per the law.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set an example by providing all possible facilities to the BNP chairperson as per the law. It should not be forgotten that Khaleda Zia has been convicted by the court,” he said

About the Akhaura union parishad elections, the law minister said elections must be held in a free and fair manner. If anyone tries to create any chaos during the elections, stern action will be taken against them, he added.

Upazila Awami League convener Principal (retd) Md Joynal Abedin presided over the meeting, which was attended, among others, by Akhaura municipality mayor Takjil Kholija Kazal, AL leaders Md Monir Hossain Babul, Selim Bhuiyan, Abdullah Bhuiyan Badal, Ataur Rahman Nazim and Abdul Momin Bablu.
