South Africa Thrash Bangladesh With Plenty To Spare, Series 1-1

South Africa defeated Bangladesh in a must-win second ODI game at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Sunday to level the series 1-1 with a match to go. They won the game by 7 wickets.

Bangladesh had certainly lost the match in the first 12.4 overs only when half of their team was in the dugout with just 34 runs on the board after their skipper Tamim Iqbal decided to bat first on the uneven surface at The Wanderers Stadium.

Afif Hossain’s 72 gave the visitors some life, but a paltry target of 195 was never really going to bother a superb batting line-up of South Africa. Kagiso Rabada was the standout bowler with figures of 5/39. In the chase, Quinton de Kock scored 62 off 41 balls to kill Bangladesh’s hopes while Kyle Verreynne hit unbeaten 58 to help South Africa reach home and level the series after Centurion defeat.

The third and deciding match of the series will be played back at SuperSport Park on Wednesday.
