New cabinet: 25 get calls for ministers, 11 state ministers

Members of the cabinet of new government are going to be sworn-in on Thursday (January 11) evening at Bangabhaban in the capital.

At a briefing on Wednesday night, Cabinet Division Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said members of the new cabinet will comprise of 25 ministers, 11 state ministers and deputy ministers.

The members of the new cabinet will be sworn-in at Bangabhaban Durbar Hall at 7:00pm on Thursday. President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer oath to the members of new cabinet. After the sworn-in ceremony, the Prime Minister will distribute the portfolios among the ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers of the new cabinet.

Those who have been selected for ministers in the new cabinet are: AKM Mozammel Huq (Gazipur-1), Obaidul Quader (Noakhali-5), Nurul Mazid Mahmud Humayun (Narsingdi-4), Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal (Dhaka-12), Dr Dipu Moni (Chandpur-3), Md Tajul Islam (Cumilla-9), Muhammad Faruque Khan (Gopalganj-1), Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali (Dinajpur-4), Anisul Huq (Brahmanbaria-4), Mohammad hasan Mahmud (Chattogram-7), Md Abdus Shahid (Moulvibazar-4), Sadhan Chandra Mazumder (Naogaon-1), RAM Ubaidul Muktadir Chowdhury (Brahmanbaria-3), Md Abdur Rahman (Faridpur-1), Narayan Chandra Chanda (Khulna-5), Abdus Salam (Mymensingh-9), Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury  (Chattogram-9), Farhad Hossain (Meherpur-1), Md Faridul Huq Khan (Jamalpur-2), Md Zillul Hakim (Rajbari-2), Saber Hossain Chowdhury (Dhaka-9), Jahangir Kabir Nanak (Dhaka-13), Nazmul Hasan (Kishoreganj-3), and two under technocrat quota: Yafesh Osman and Dr Samanta Lal Sen.

Those have been invited to take oath as state ministers are: Begum Simin Hossain Rimi (Gazipur-4), Nasrul Hamid (Dhaka-3), Junayed Ahmed Palak (Natore-3), Mohammad Ali Arafat (Dhaka-17), Md Mohibbur Rahman (Patuakhali-4), Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury (Dinajpur-2), Zahid Faruque (Barishal-5), Kujendra Lal Tripura (Khagrachhari), Begum Rumana Ali (Gazipur-3), Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury (Sylhet-2) and Ahsanul Islam Tito (Tangail-6).
