Momen sends condolences to External Affairs Minister of India Jaishankar for recent floods in India

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Saturday, August 19  expressed sincere condolences over the victims of the floods in the northern states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in India.

In a condolence message sent to External Affairs Minister of India Dr S Jaishankar, Dr Momen conveyed, “I am deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of valuable lives and substantial damage caused by flash floods, landslides, and the collapse of a temple triggered by heavy rains in the northern states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. We appreciate the efforts of the government of India in mobilizing rescue operations and assisting those affected by the disaster.”

Momen added, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and the departed souls from this natural disaster. We also wish for the safe rescue of the devotees still trapped in the temple and pray for the quick recovery of those injured.”

He expressed solidarity with the government and the people of India and mentioned that he hopes that India would soon overcome this challenging situation.
