4 employees suspended over health ministry file missing

Health education and family welfare division secretary Md Ali Noor on Tuesday said ‘We have suspended four of our employees a recent scandal centring on the disappearance of confidential files from the ministry.  

 Confirming the matter at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Health Education and Family Welfare Division Secretary Md Ali Noor also said the punitive action was taken as per the findings of the probe committee report.

“Four employees were suspended in connection with the missing files from the office,” he said.

The suspended staff are: stenographers/computer operators Joseph Sardar and Ayesha Siddiqa, Admin Section office assistants Badal Chandra Goswami and Mintu Mia.

The probe body led by additional secretary Md Shah Alam of the health education division submitted the report to the secretary on Thursday, accusing four lower grade employees for the missing of files from office room, a senior official confirmed.

On October 28, seventeen files, mostly related to purchase by different public medical colleges, were found missing from the Room No 29 of the secretariat building 3, adjacent to the room of Shahdat Hossain, additional secretary (development) of the medical education and family welfare division of the ministry.

Medical education division deputy secretary Nadira Haydar filed a general diary in this regard with the Shahbagh police station in the evening later on the day.
