Afghanistan cricket team arrive in Bangladesh without Rashid, Nabi

The Afghanistan cricket reached Bangladesh yesterday night (Saturday) without its star leg-spinner Rashid Khan and allrounder Mohammad Nabi.

After spending the night in Dhaka, they reached Sylhet today where they will set up a week-long camp in a bid to get acclimatized with the condition.

Afghanistan will play a three-match ODI series which is the part of ICC Super League and two T20 Internationals against Bangladesh.

Rashid did not come to Bangladesh due to his commitment with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Lahore Qalanders. He will remain busy playing in PSL till February 19. He is scheduled to be in Dhaka on February 20. This leg-spinner will miss the PSL Play-off for the national team’s series against Bangladesh. Mohammad Nabi will also join the side ahead of the series.

Some of the Afghanistan players, however, are playing in BPL also. At the end of their team’s game they will join the team. The Afghan Cricket team still did not announce the team. However, it is learnt from the Bangladesh
Cricket Board (BCB) that the 22-member Afghanistan team reached Dhaka on Saturday night.

The camp of Afghanistan will run in Sylhet until February 19. They are allowed to use two fields of Sylhet Cricket Stadium. On February 18, they will play a match amongst themselves. Then the visiting team will travel to Chattogram where they will play three-match ODI series, scheduled on February 23, 25 and 28.

Then, both of the teams will travel back to Dhaka for two T20 matches, slated on March 3 and 5.
