Call for leveraging ocean resources
SDGs Action Research Centre of SIMEC Institute holds Intl seminar
Experts have emphasied on leveraging potentialities of ocean resources to attain sustainable development goals(SDG) together.
Adressing a webinar, speakers also underscored the importance on more knowledge sharing on blue economy among proffesionals to enhance growth in activities.
SDGs Action Research Centre of SIMEC Institute of Technology has organised the international e-seminar on Saturday on role of blue economy for tge sustainable development in Bangladesh.
Foreign Affairs ministry’s Maritime Affairs Unit secretary Md Khurshed Alam was the chief guest while Religious Affairs ministry Additional Secretary Dr Moazzem Hossain made keynote in the session.
Curtin University of Sustainability Policy Institute director Dora Marinova, Prime Minister’s Office joint secretary Monirul Islam, Planning Commission deputy secratery Dr Mohammad Solaiman, ICT Division deputy secretary Dr Nahid Sultana Mollik, Dr Sanjib Roy of Saarc University, Stamford University assistant proffesor Muhammad Fakhrul Islam and Circular Economics CEO Dr Asif Siddiqi connected to the vertually held meeting.
SDGs Action Research Center Executive Director Prof Dr Md Amzad Hossain presided over the meeting while national coordinator
Muhammad Sharifur Rahman moderated the session.
The seminar ended up with policy and strategy recommendations for developing and utilising the marin resources and hence achieve SDG 14, eventually economic development in public private parrnership
