Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 2,710 cases, 65 deaths in 24hrs
Bangladesh today reported 2,710 COVID-19 cases while the coronavirus claimed overnight 65 lives.
Against a downward trend seen in recent days, the positivity rate went up to 9.82 per cent from Sunday’s 9.66 per cent during this period.
The overall caseload now stands at 15,17,166 and the total fatalities at 26,628, according to the press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 27,595 samples at 797 laboratories across the country. Bangladesh has so far tested 90,91,610 samples.
Meanwhile, 4,124 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 14,55,187.
Among the fresh fatalities, 32 were males and 33 were females.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
Meanwhile, global Covid-19 caseload reached 221,644,366 and the death toll to 4,584,004 till Monday morning, according to US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
